The SAMUEL Story

SAMUEL Bespoke Jewelry was founded by GIA Graduate Gemologist Jason Perry with a simple mission: to help clients create, celebrate, and preserve precious memories through the artistry, inspiration and science of fine jewelry design and appraising.

With more than 18 years of combined experience in jewelry sales, management, buying, appraising, and custom design, Jason has worked with some of the industry's most respected companies and brings that experience to SAMUEL as an independent jewelry specialist.

Meet Our Founder

When asked how he got into the jewelry business, Jason often says, “I’ve always had a passion for fine arts and an eye for design.”

That passion became a career while Jason was in college, originally studying communications, when he took his first sales position at a local jewelry store. Several years later, a family experience sparked his interest in jewelry appraisal.

After his grandmother—a former jewelry business owner, antique dealer, and furniture restorer—passed away, Jason and his family faced the challenge of sorting through her jewelry collection. They needed to identify gemstones, distinguish fine jewelry from costume pieces, and determine the value of each item.

The experience showed Jason firsthand how important accurate identification, documentation, and valuation can be when families are dealing with heirlooms and personal property—whether for insurance, estate division, or transfer.

That realization inspired him to pursue formal gemological education. Jason attended the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in New York City, earning his Graduate Gemologist diploma, along with additional credentials in jewelry design and repair.

He went on to develop extensive appraisal experience, beginning with a gold-buying franchise and later working with a national appraisal firm. His work took him throughout the United States, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Washington, D.C., Minnesota, North Dakota, Colorado, North Carolina, and Georgia. In 2019, he achieved Certified Member status with the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.

From Appraisal to Bespoke Design

In 2012, Jason was asked by a family member to design a custom engagement ring. Although he had previously helped clients with jewelry design, this was his first opportunity to manage a custom project from concept to completion.

The result was a success—and the beginning of a growing passion for bespoke jewelry. Since then, Jason has created custom pieces tailored to each client's individual style, story, and specifications.

SAMUEL Bespoke Jewelry officially began serving clients in 2013. In 2017, the business relocated to the Greater Atlanta area, where it continues to provide personalized appraisal, gemological, and bespoke jewelry services to a growing clientele.
